My husband would put a padlock on the thermostat if he could. I like it toasty warm and he would live in Antarctica if he could. Our house is littered with heating blankets, regular blankets, sleeping bags, and slippers but sometimes you just need to flip the switch and crank up the heat! I think he would like this DIY heater that puts out tons of heat and costs only pennies to run! This is cheap heating that looks great!
There are many terracotta heater variations out there but not all of them are as stylish as this one from Ben Galt. It has an adjustable base which allows for different sized candles. I think this type of heater is much safer than some of the others because it doesn’t come into contact with furniture or carpet.
All you need for the heater part of this project are two terracotta flower pots, some candles, a length of chain, and a bolt with lots of nuts and washers. This heater gets up to 160-180 F in about 20 minutes and stays hot for hours so watch your fingers. Lol. This would be perfect for power outage emergencies or patio parties. There are a lot of DIY heaters out there and it never hurts to have more than one. Check out this one from Viralnova. Brilliant!
