I love blankets. Being curled up in front of the fire with a fluffy blanket and a cup of hot coco has to be one of the best things. I love using blankets but I don’t necessarily love making them. The end result is amazing but they’re a lot of work. Most of my homemade blankets have been given to me and not made. For better or worse, I don’t think I’ll be able to talk myself out of making this bumpy blanket. It is just too cute (and it’s really not all that difficult either)!
It’s called bumpy because of the bobble stitch (a.k.a. the puff stitch). It gives a fun texture and 3D feel to the blanket. Obviously you can pick any color combos you like, but I love all the bright colors of the rainbow. ROY G. BIV and I go way back. Are you going big or small? I think I’ll start small. Crochet needles ready? Go!
UsefulDIY.com has a fun tutorial on another style of rainbow blanket. Have you tried the honeycomb? It’s pretty cool. Check out the full tutorial here.
