Organizing your whole home can make it much easier to find whatever you are looking for. If your home is messy then you will waste hours searching for everything you need to find. These organization ideas for the whole house will make it much easier for you to know where everything is.
Great ways to organize your home:
– Over door shelves
– Hanging Baskets
– Bathroom Drawers
– Magnetic Storage
– Making Dedicated storage furniture
– Using Shoe Organizers
Over door Shelves
The space at the top of the door is a waste because it isn’t really used for anything. You can quite easily fit a shelf above the door which can be used to store all sorts of things. It would also be possible to install a small cabinet over the top of the door which would conceal whatever you want to put inside.
Hanging Baskets
Baskets are a great way to organize lots of different items in many different rooms of your house. They can be hung from the wall by using zip ties and securing them to towel rails. This provides a lot of extra storage which is easily accessible. They are perfect for storing rolled up towels or shower gel. They can also be used to store kitchen equipment.
Bathroom drawers
If you have a drawer in your bathroom then it might be very cluttered and messy. You can make this a much more useful storage space by dividing the space up. There are a few different ways of doing this, whether you want to use drawer divider boxes, or silverware sorting trays. These are great for storing everyone’s toothbrushes somewhere it’s easy to find.
Magnetic Storage
It’s very easy to lose small metal items such as tweezers, nail clippers and bobby pins. You can store these somewhere you always know they are by using magnets. This is much easier than it sounds, since you only need to use some magnetic tape. Magnetic self adhesive tape can be purchased from a DIY store. This can be put around the edge of a desk, on a wall, or on the inside of a cabinet door. Then anything metal can be stuck to it so it’s always easy to find.
Make dedicated storage furniture
You can never have too much storage, and that’s why it’s always worthwhile trying to add extra storage somewhere in your home. It’s quite easy to build your own storage furniture if you are fairly good at DIY. The easiest type of storage furniture you could build yourself would be a simple bench with padded seats. Space can be left under the bench to have pull out baskets which can then be used to store all sorts of things. This is particularly useful in kids bedrooms where extra storage is always welcome.
Using Shoe Organizers
Shoe organizers consist of a number of different pockets which are intended for storing shoes. However, they can be used with anything that will physically fit in the pocket. They can be used to store hair bands, pens, coloring things, toys and even games console controllers.
Overhead Racking
Quite often if you use your garage for storage then it means you won’t be able to get your car inside any more. If you fit overhead racking though, it’s possible to use your garage for both storage and somewhere to store your car. These racks are fitted in the ceiling space which would otherwise be wasted. This will give you a large area to store big items which can be kept well organized.
