Ground Fridge

This Ground Fridge Is Perfect For Your Off-Grid Dream Home

Ground Fridge

How big is your fridge? Even if you purchased the largest one at the appliance store it not going to be as big as the one featured here today. The ‘Groundfridge,’ designed by Floris Schoonderbeek, is 20 times the size of a regular fridge. Yikes!

These refrigerators are stored underground and require no energy. They take no toll on your electric bill because the temperature is regulated by the soil and groundwater around it. This normally ranges from 44-59 degrees fahrenheit. Pretty neat! You can store so much stuff in there. Who wouldn’t want a ‘walk-in’ ridge? Look at all that wine! Know what this nifty invention reminds me of? A hobbit hole! Love me some LORT!

You can build your own root cellar if you don’t want to shell out the dough, even if you live in the city. Check out this urban option here.

Here’s the video… Enjoy!
